Yep, on the other thread (this is why only one zombie thread should be updated!) mentioned something quasi-official was coming out.
But I'm not holding my breath for anytime in 2018. Can't see what it has to do with the UX/UI, too... unless the visual widget is just a shortcut to a Send Alert under the hood? This would make sense, in a way, as alerts are darn close to what people are looking for, save for the CC: header itself -- which has always been cosmetic on the receiver side anyway.*
* Referring again to the fact a CC: in an email in your inbox doesn't mean an email was even attempted to that other person.
You can look into setting up a Marketo webhook to call SFDC API that sends emails with support for CC.
Worth the effort? up to you to decide.
Much more straightforward to use Send Alert.
A webhook couldn't duplicate the entire content of an email, personalized just as for the original recipient (the nearest we can get to a CC:).
