Capturing Search Engine and PPC info on Landing Pages.

Hi,

We require assistance with capturing Search Engine and PPC info on Landing Pages. E.g. As described here: http://community.marketo.com/MarketoResource?id=kA650000000GsPJCA0

Our Marketo forms are held on Non-Marketo Landing pages, therefore our web dev team need to try to replicate what is occurring on a Marketo landing page on our site.  Basically, the scripts etc. needed for this to function on a non-Marketo page.

We need more info on how Marketo landing pages capture both organic and paid search data.  A good way would be to manually test this by searching for a Marketo landing page on Google, and then when found, clicking on a link from Google, and seeing how the keywords we searched push into hidden fields. Is there a way to simulate this ?

Or any other ideas on helping us to achieve our goal?

Re: Capturing Search Engine and PPC info on Landing Pages.

Natalie,

Marketo landing pages do not by default capture search data.  The simplest way to capture this information (which you may or may not be doing already) is to use hidden fields on your forms:

Additionally, Marketo does capture some information from the web visitor, such as original search engine, which is already stored and matched to your lead record when they complete a form.

Be sure your non-Marketo landing pages have the Marketo cookie included, or much of this can not occur.

Hope this helps.
