Bounced emails w/correct information

Hi All
We recevied a good number of bounces in a recent invitation email we sent out. After checking internally, a large percentage of those emails addresses are correct. This is not spam, as the invite is a private invitation to a customer event. People at my company are asking for an explanation of why their contacts could be bouncing if the addresses are legit. Anyone have an idea or suggestions for what I can pass along?
Thanks!

Re: Bounced emails w/correct information

The better question is are they Soft Bounces or Hard Bounces? If they are good addresses then they should be Soft Bounces, since Hard Bounces are inactive or incorrect addresses.

Let's assume they Soft Bounces then there are a couple reasons why this might happen. Two jump off the page; 1) your IP is not whitelisted 2) your From Address information and/or IP info is not on your DNS Server.

Handful of other questions can also help narrow this down:

Are you new to Marketo?
Is your Audince B2B or B2C?
Have you sent to these people through Marketo before?

The answers will help us better understand why it is happeneing and allow you to not only correct it moving forward but provide and explaination to your peers.

Re: Bounced emails w/correct information

You can check those details by going through my guide.
http://www.slideshare.net/jdavidhill/marketo-email-reputation-management

Also check the activity log for a few of the bounced leads to see what kind of bounces and the details provided.

You may also want to ask Support and give them the campaign URL so they can check what happened.
