Automatic alert

I am just getting started in Marketo and have two instances where I would like an automatic alert emailed to someone on my team when an action is performed. One instance is event registration, I need an auto email sent to my events team every time someone registers. The other instance is for a form where I need an email notification sent to a co-worker whenever the form is filled out.

I found a post here with what looks to be the only solution, which is to create an email and trigger it to be sent in the flow. Is there an easier, faster way to do this that doesn't require having to create a separate email just for an alert to be sent?

You can use the send alert flow step as part of your normal flow when someone registers for an event.  So the smart campaign would look like this

Smart list

     Trigger off of fills out form

Flow

     Send email = You've registered

     Send Alert = This person has registered, enter email of team or alias you want it sent to

Unfortunately you will have to create an email for this but not a special smart campaign.  There is no default alerting system in marketo
