Anyone using InsideView for lead enrichment?

We're having issues with enriched data being overwritten. Neither InsideView, Marketo, or Salesforce knows why.

If you are using InsideView, would love to connect so see how you have your enrich  smart lists configured.

Re: Anyone using InsideView for lead enrichment?

Hey Ari,

It looks like this is an Account field you're trying to write to.  Marketo by default does not write to account level fields, so what's probably happening is that the change is pushed up to SFDC from MArketo, then the account's systemmodstamp is updated in SFDC and the change is reverted on the Marketo side since it was never made in SFDC.  There are two primary options you have here:  First, use a different lead/contact level field instead of an account level field, so that the changes are synched up to SFDC properly.  Second, you can have Marketo Support enable account-level writing for you.  I do not advise option two unless you have Field-Level Security in SFDC and have blocked writing to all fields which you do not want Marketo to update.  This option can cause many problems if it is not thought through, as one contact filling out Company Name in a form can erroneously update the account name for all associated contacts.

Hi Ari, this could be happening for any number of reasons..could you provide some detail about your setup and specifically what is happening?

Re: Anyone using InsideView for lead enrichment?

Sure, Nate.

Here's a scenario:

Marketo activity log shows:
2:58 pm - lead created in Salesforce
2:58 - Webhook calls InsideView to see if lead can be enriched
2:59 - Number of employees field enriched
3:01 - Lead synced to Salesforce by flow step "Sync to SFDC"
3:45 - Number of employees field value changed from 3 to null (reason: Synched from salesforce.comAccount ID 0018000001E21FJAAZ)

Does that help at all?

Re: Anyone using InsideView for lead enrichment?

Thank you, Kenny. Your reasoning makes a lot of sense. My hunch all along was that the issue was in the system mod stamp.

I'll speak with our Sales ops about option 1.

Thanks again.
