I just added a new domain alias to the Admin Landing Pages area following the instructions here:
https://docs.marketo.com/display/public/DOCS/Add+Additional+Landing+Page+CNAMEs
The process seemed to complete without error but I can't see the domain alias I just created listed anywhere. Shouldn't I be able to see it so as to know it's there?

They are trying to use Unbounce LPs on an Earlens subdomain. Hence they created get.earlens.com and asked me to set it up in Marketo and to give them the Munchkin code. Their end goal is to use Unbounce LPs and have any leads who fill in forms (they intend embedding Marketo forms based on their belief that can use an Earlens subdomain hence connect them to Marketo) into the Earlens Marketo instance. Is this approach even possible?
But that doesn't have anything to do w/creating a new Marketo Domain Alias...
You can embed a Marketo form (using the Forms 2.0 embed code) on any page, say https://www.example.com, even if your primary Marketo LP domain is https://pages. example.info.
You should definitely see it in the Rules.
Hey Sandy - As I said, now it IS showing up in the rules but the redirect is not working:
I'm suspicious that the CNAME was not set up correctly. As I read Marketo's instructions, IT should have been asked to configure this for the additional CNAME:
get.earlens.com > earlenscorporation.mktoweb.com
Do I have that right (I was told the CNAME had been set up but wasn't involved in requesting it and have reason to believe they requester might not have been looking at Marketo's instructions)?
The alias is still pointing to Unbounce as of right now.
What are you doing that enables you to see that?

Just a DNS lookup (dig).

I know you can embed the code and it will create a form, but you can't just create a Marketo form on any old web site and have the data flow into someone's Marketo instance. Right?
I guess I was wrong, because I just filled out a form on their unbounce page and it fed the information into Marketo. I'm still confused but clearly I was wrong. So I guess I can just delete the LP alias I set up?
Yep, there's no need for a Domain Alias.
Wanted to jump in and ask as I have an interesting configuration scenario– if I'm sending email and trying to configure a branded tracking domain I have a weirdish configuration right now and wanted to see if there was any special nuance to how folks think about configuring this.
Our email domain is r2c.dev but we want to have our landing page subdomain point to pages.semgrep.dev (off semgrep.dev) is this going to run into cross-domain engagement tracking issues based on the email & branded domain tracking being related to r2c.dev property but driving traffic to semgrep.dev property for us? We are still just getting started and I was wondering how big of a scaling challenge I might be walking into with this setup.
No problem. It’s the same as using a generic tracking domain (i.e. a domain owned by the MAP/ESP). There are 100 other things to worry about reputation-wise before you worry about that.
Of course you should warm up any domain, but it being different from the final domain after redirection (if both domains are in good standing) is fine.
The form fill information comes through but not the page visit. They asked me for the munchkin code. If they embed that too will page visits be tracked, too?
Thank you! I just checked back and it's there in the rules now! Maybe there was a lag time.
