Adding a program to an engagement program stream?

Hi there,

I was reading through this content: Add a Program to an Engagement Program Stream - Marketo Docs - Product Docs and I had a question regarding the flow of the programs. My engagement program has different email blast programs within the engagement program stream where I have set up reports etc. However, that means we would have smart campaign that would send out the email to the smart list of the engagement program, right?

If I've set the stream cadence to send out the content every 6 weeks,does that mean that I need to manually activate the smart campaigns to "send the email" to the people in the list by scheduling it when I want to? Or is there a way for the programs to automatically start when the lead is supposed to receive the content after 6 weeks like I specified in the stream cadence?

I don;t think it will let you activate a triggered campaignb within the stream.

This is well documented in docs.marketo.com

When you add a Program with an Email inside it, you must have a special smart campaign that has at least Member of Engagement Program=X inside it. Only then, will the Stream allow you to add the Program. Marketo knows that this is a special campaign and will only activate it during a Cast.

Keep in mind that the Flow in that campaign will execute for ALL qualified cast members that make it there.

The flow will also continue past the original Cast, for example if you had 4 more emails inside that particular campaign.

You can still send out blast content using separate smart campaigns inside the child program, but that will not affect the Engagement.

Marketo will trigger the child program campaign at the appropriate Cast. There is no need to manually do anything.

As Josh suggested, use the Member of engagement program filter in Smart List tab of smart campaign and under flow step, use the Send email step. And then drop the campaign in Engagement stream and set the stream cadence time.
