@logankardash, @Jasmine_Deo, @smasunda, @Chelsea_Corbett, @ayanpaul and @BradenColeman we've come to the end of our mentorship time so I wanted to follow-up with some quick notes.
It's been great working with you all and please keep me posted once you've taken the exam. I'd love to hear how it goes!
Hi everyone! We're getting down to the end of our mentor program.
Let me know how I can help or what questions have come up in your studying!
Hi @Natalie_Kremer ! Thanks again for all the great resources and responding to my questions!
Will these forums be closed after this week?
Thanks!
Hi @logankardash, @Jasmine_Deo, @smasunda, @Chelsea_Corbett, @ayanpaul! Also, let's welcome @BradenColeman to our group! Braden, feel free to share an introduction of yourself!
As we wrap up our week on Reporting, I wanted to share a few quiz questions to make sure you're all feeling comfortable with the topic. Let me know your responses in the thread here!
1. What is a crucial step you must take before approving an entire revenue model?
2. Which of the following columns is included in a Program Performance Report?
3. Which of the following can you not do with Marketo Reporting?
Also, let's make sure you're all taking the Practice Test in the next week to identify any additional areas you need help studying with. This is really helpful to figure out areas where you need to spend more time studying prior to taking the test. To take the practice test:
First, log in to the Adobe Credential Management System with your Adobe ID.
Then, go to the Adobe Certification Exam Prep Portal to find your practice test.
Finally, I'll be nominating someone from our group for a 100% paid exam voucher, so please make sure you're staying engaged with our group and have Community notifications for our thread enabled so you don't miss anything. As always, let me know any questions you have or how I can help you prep for the exam!
Hi @Natalie_Kremer ! Thanks for providing so many great resources along the way. I feel like this has really let me dive into some areas that I use often but maybe didn't fully understand the functionality of! Below are the answers to the quiz questions!
1. D. Approve individual stages and add people to them.
2. I think for this one there could be multiple correct answers. A, B and C all seem to appear in the Program Performance Report. I'm going to go with those 😃
3. 4. The email link performance report usually just shows an aggregate of total clicks and the number of people clicking on a specific link. From there it doesn't give you any insight into who or allow you to go to the person record.
Let me know how I did! Going to be taking the practice exam a couple more times prior to the upcoming exam! 🤞
-Logan
Great job @logankardash ! These are all correct!
Hi @logankardash, @Jasmine_Deo, @smasunda, @Chelsea_Corbett, @ayanpaul we're down to our final weeks of the mentorship program! Can you all provide a quick status update on your progress?
This week we'll be diving into the last section of the test - Reporting - which takes up 4% of the test!
This section covers Reporting, Email Insights, Performance Insights, and Advanced BI Analytics Reporting. The Exam Prep Guide goes into each of these areas in more detail. Here are some other helpful reporting links, too!
Let me know how I can help as you get closer to taking the test!
What questions do you have about the certification or the test? We can discuss any questions you've run into in our thread here!
Hi @Natalie_Kremer ! Seems like the prep for me is overall going well and I have been taking a go at the Certification Exam! This question (answer corrected stumped me a bit) and I was wondering if you had any more context as to why the first answer is correct "Email is Delivered and the person filled out form A and not form B"?
I'm confused how someone who filled out Form A and not Form B would still get through this filter? I had assumed that because it was listed as "is not" that not submitting both would have to be true? Any advice for understanding this a bit better? (Question Below)
Hi @logankardash! Great question as this is really tricky. Double negative filters in Marketo can introduce a lot of issues which is why a lot of us tend to avoid them.
As you'll see in the screenshot because there is a "Not Filled Out Form" filter and then the filter uses "Form Name is Not" it turns the actual constraint into "any of 2 values" (seen in the hover pop-up). Due to this, option 1 is correct since the person filled out Form A, but not Form B. Let me know if this makes sense!
Hey @Natalie_Kremer to continue on this thread:
* I get how the not and not = double negative so that it's essentially saying Form was filled out as any of these two
*My question is, why is my second answer wrong?
Is it since "any" is not the same as "both"?
Hi @BradenColeman, yes you're correct! Since the question criteria calls out "will always allow a person to qualify" and the actual filter criteria is for ANY, option 2 is incorrect since it requires both to be filled out.
This questions continues to be a tricky one since there are so many nuances, so I wanted to share this Loom one of the other mentors put together because I think it's really helpful: https://www.loom.com/share/c5f018bdea3948e78ae97d59af4e9d38.
Ah yes! That makes sense! I know the double negatives are hard to wrap my head around! Thank you for the explanation!
Hi @logankardash, @Jasmine_Deo, @smasunda, @Chelsea_Corbett, @ayanpaul!
Here is your quiz for this week. Please be sure to respond in this thread in order to be considered for the 100% paid certification waiver!
Which of the following is NOT a way to access a Marketo Person record Activity Log?
A) From the Database, you can search in the Quick Find
B) Any Smart List or list
C) Members tab of a program
D) View Campaign Members in a Smart Campaign
E) From Reports tab of a People Performance Report
Hi @Natalie_Kremer !
My answer for this would be E) From Reports tab of a People Performance Report.
You can access a Marketo Person record Activity Log from all other options and the People Performance Report has the "Group People by" setting that shows the data in an aggregate view by a specific segment or attribute rather than each record individually.
Thanks! 😁
You're correct - thanks for responding @logankardash!
Hi @logankardash, @Jasmine_Deo, @smasunda, @Chelsea_Corbett, @ayanpaul welcome to our first full week of the mentorship!
This week the Adobe Marketo Engage Business Practitioner Expert Prep Guide focus is on Administration and Maintenance which makes up 12% of the test. You'll learn about:
You can also take the official practice and send over notes of what questions and areas you struggled with. We can focus on these areas, too.
To take the practice test:
First, log in to the Adobe Credential Management System with your Adobe ID.
Then, go to the Adobe Certification Exam Prep Portal to find your practice test.
I'll post our quiz later this week so keep an eye out for that. In the meantime, let me know if you have any questions on this section by replying to this thread! I'm here to help and answer any questions you have!
Hi @Natalie_Kremer ! Going to catch up here I promise - things have just been a bit busy with work.
I have a question around the "Original Source Type" and "Registration Source Type".
They seem quite similar within the Understanding System Fields section but I noticed the verbiage for Original Source Type as more "Discovered" and Registration Source Type to be more "became a person".
What is the difference between someone being Discovered and Becoming a person? Am I correct in assuming that the registration type is the first time they submit a form or something concrete into Marketo and being discovered they would still just only have an anonymous ID? or do these more so go hand in hand?
Thank you 😃
Hi @logankardash,
I have had the same question for years lol. Your understanding is the same as my current understanding.
Original Source Type, Original Source Info
vs
Registration Source Type, Registration Source Info
Original Source is how Marketo first became aware of a person and Registration Source is what drove Marketo to create that person as an actual person record with a Marketo ID in your database.
The kicker is sometimes Original Source and Registration Source are the same, but other times they are different.
Not sure if that helps.
Thanks,
Sibbs
@logankardash you're right, these are very similar types of fields in most cases. In the cases of list imports or form fills, both Source Types would be the same. Where it is different is for Anonymous visitor tracking like you called out. Marketo would mark their Original Source Type as Web Page Visit, but they wouldn't actually become a Person record in Marketo until another activity is completed like a form fill or list import. Let me know if this helps clear it up!
