Hey @AWmindtree ! I have a question I'm hoping you can help with!
I'm about to follow the steps in the article listed below to sync over some bizible fields that are part of a custom object in salesforce.
https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/marketo/using/product-docs/crm-sync/salesforce-sync/sfdc-...
Step 3 has me disabling the Global Sync and Step 6 has me reenabling it. What will this do exactly? Bit nervous to do that because I'm not quite sure what will happen haha.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
Hi @koreybeaver
Interesting one.
By carefully disabling and re-enabling the global sync during Custom Object updates, Marketo ensures that the schema syncs correctly and that there are minimal disruptions to ongoing operations in Marketo. This method provides a robust approach to maintaining data integrity and operational continuity.
So, you can just disable the sync Refresh the schema for the Custom Object you wish to sync, and Enable the sync back.
Once, your schema is built in Marketo the SF Custom Object data will sync to Marketo.
PS: You can only use SF Custom Object data to appear in Filters and triggers in Marketo. You'll not be able to see the data in the Record level in Marketo.
Hope this helps.
This was very helpful, thank you! And yes that's perfect, I will only be using the fields/data for triggers and don't necessarily need to see it on records.
For those of us actively using marketo right now, i thought taking a screenshot of your folder structure would be a fun icebreaker! I recently went through and did an overhaul of ours a few weeks ago.
Ours is almost identical, just a different naming convention! We also put "DO NOT TOUCH" on our top level Operational folder... just to make sure it was clear that wasn't where friends should be looking for things.
