I get a lot of questions about data types in Marketo. There's information about them in the documentation plus here in the developer documents.
I've aggregated the data types in a Google Doc that puts it all in one convenient place, distinguishing between the Person and Custom Objects, and addressing things line min and max values which can be a bit vague elsewhere.
