Before You Get Started: Before building anything in the application, we encourage all customers to ensure they have a clear understanding of Adobe Dynamic Chat features and functionality. For a list of enablement resources, please click here.

Great news! Adobe Dynamic Chat is now available to all Marketo Engage customers. Whether you’re just getting started with chat automation or are already using another tool, continue reading to find out how you can easily launch your first automated chat with Dynamic Chat.

What is Dynamic Chat?

Adobe Dynamic Chat is a powerful conversational marketing tool that enhances Marketo Engage's B2B marketing capabilities, offering multiple ways for your site visitors to engage. They can chat with a live agent, book meetings with your Sales Team, and more. Plus, you can use Dynamic Chat activity and engagement data to further enhance the digital journey by adding new members to Marketo programs and triggering cross-channel activities.

Laying the Foundation

As marketers we know that implementing a new tool can be challenging. Therefore, it’s extremely important to start simple and scale up in complexity over time. This allows you to lay a solid foundation and helps to increase the tool’s likelihood of success.

A quick and easy way to get started with Dynamic Chat is to leverage the pre-built templates (or streams). These templates align to basic use cases and are a great starting point for customers who are new(ish) to the tool and want to begin utilizing it on their own.

To access these templates from within the application, select either “Create Dialogue” or “Create Conversational Flow” from the “Automated Chat” section on the left navigation panel.

Pro Tip: While Dialogues and Conversational Flows have several similarities, they are two separate features. Read more here.

Once you decide on the type of automated chat you’d like to build, select the appropriate blue button:

Then, a new window will open:

Pro Tip: Not sure which template to start with? Look at your current digital marketing strategy and select the use case that most closely aligns with your goals.

From here, you can choose to start with one of the following pre-built streams:

  1. Template #1: Blog Reader Conversion
This template is ideal for customers who currently have a blog and want to convert blog visitors to prospective leads. Visitors are asked if they’d like to receive content and, if yes, are then prompted to input their email address.
  2. Template #2: Lead Generation
This template is great for converting anonymous visitors to known Marketo Engage leads so you can begin to send them relevant marketing communications. Visitors are led down various streams based on what brought them to the site (just browsing vs. more information vs. support question).
  3. Template #3: Lead Qualification
This template is designed to collect additional information from people that are already in your Marketo Engage database so you can further qualify them for your sales team. Visitors are prompted to select how many employees their company has, the region they are in, and what solution they are most interested in.
  4. Template #4: Event Registration
This template encourages visitors to your website to register for an upcoming event. The stream gathers basic information from interested visitors and registers them for the event.

Give your automated chat a name and click the “Create” button. Then use the stream designer’s drag-and-drop functionality to easily tweak, update, and customize the chat to fit your use case.

Pro Tip: The Stream Designer contains multiple cards called “Stream Designer Cards” which you can add to shape the chat conversation. Read more here.

Looking to the Future
