The Silicon Valley Bank Digital and Creative Marketing team is seeking a Marketing Automation Senior Associate to support the growing email marketing, campaign and marketing automation needs of our internal clients. Joining an internal team of two Marketo experts, the Marketing Automation Senior Associate will assist in the day-to-day management of SVB’s Marketo instance and marketing campaigns, including campaign creation and execution, lead management, Marketo training and best practices, and overall email and campaign troubleshooting.

The Marketing Automation Senior Associate role is a full-time contractor role based in either the SVB San Francisco or Santa Clara office.

The Marketing Automation Senior Associate will increase the effectiveness of how we use Marketo to drive business results.  Specific responsibilities include:

  • Create, execute and manage promotional and automated email marketing campaigns, including the production of landing pages, emails and forms
  • Lead the creation, implementation and iteration of new, innovative, high-performing, high-converting email, landing page and form templates
  • Define, pull and manage email list pulls for campaigns, and manage to company communication limits
  • Establish and deliver regular campaign, channel and deliverability reports and analyses, with the purpose of increasing ROI on campaigns and driving efficiency within the channel
  • Establish email marketing and campaign best practices, enabling internal clients to optimize campaigns and achieve business goals
  • Serve as an internal Marketo expert to help with the day-to-day troubleshooting and support of internal clients using Marketo
  • Collaborate with internal Marketo experts, internal clients and the Infrastructure team to design and implement improvements in how SVB uses Marketo that will drive increased ROI and impact of marketing campaigns, including design of lead nurturing/scoring programs, implementation of account based marketing, web integrations, and more


The ideal candidate is an experienced digital marketer with hands-on experience using all aspects of Marketo, including campaign setup and execution, lead database and list management, email analytics and reporting, and deliverability.  Specific desired skills and experience include:

  • 3 - 5 years marketing automation experience
  • 3 – 5 years hands-on experience with Marketo
  • Certified Marketo Expert credential is a plus
  • Experience and comfort with databases, data manipulation, Excel and data deduping is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with A/B testing is a plus
  • Working knowledge of CSS/HTML is a plus
  • Self-starter with the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
  • Detail-orientated and organized with excellent project management
  • Superior communication skills in both one-on-one consultation and one-to-many training settings
  • BA/BS degree
