The Director, Web Strategy is the business owner of all Marketo web properties globally. In this role, you will be responsible for the strategy, creation, and optimization of those properties, and will work with our Product & Segment Marketing, Corporate Marketing, and Demand Generation teams to ensure our websites are effectively telling the Marketo story. You will manage a team of web developers, analytics and optimization specialists, and project management to drive conversion and increase customer acquisition growth by creating compelling and high-converting web experiences.

Responsibilities include:

  • Set the strategy for all Marketo web properties including new property creation, overall messaging, content, and relationship of various properties focused on driving best-in-class user experience
  • Lead major website initiatives involving cross-functional teams including design services, development, IT, demand generation, marketing, and others
  • Work closely with the Demand Generation team to optimize web properties for SEO and lead capture/conversion by identifying trends, gathering insights, and implementing best practices
  • Be an influential voice for best practices in design, web development, and technology, and be passionate about the role our web properties can play in providing value to users
  • Develop, prioritize, and execute a roadmap of longer-term strategic website enhancements and immediate tactical improvements
  • Enable efficient and accurate reporting on web performance and its impact on the full funnel
  • Proactively identify digital technology innovation and growth opportunities, build business cases, gain buy-in, and execute
  • Evolve regional websites from simple translation of the English-language site to truly localized sites, and provide regional marketing teams with tools to test and publish localized content in their regions easily
  • Create a culture of continuous experimentation within the web team

Required skills and experience:

  • BS/BA required, MBA a plus
  • 8+ years’ experience in web strategy, including skills and proven success in driving web properties for world-class SaaS companies
  • 3+ years of experience building and managing high-performing, multi-discipline teams
  • Demonstrable skills in strategic planning and execution for full-scale website redesign, rebuild, and/or new platform projects
  • Excellent cross-functional leadership skills
  • Deep understanding of current and future digital trends across multiple platforms, including solid background in UX, SEO, SEM, and conversion optimization principles and methodologies
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proactive, decisive, and results-oriented
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, ability to use data to drive decision-making
  • Highly driven self-starter that thrives in a dynamic environment
