SFDC Sync: force users to create a new SFDC campaign when they want to sync a program

Sync'ing programs with a campaign that do not have the same member statuses as the program is a sure way to break the sync. and it is far too easy an error to make.

In order to avoid this, we should have a setting in the admin by which we would disable users to sync a program with an existing SFDC campaign. When this setting is activated, Only the "create new" option would remain.

I really really don't want this idea to be implemented. I understand the issue it's trying to solve all too well, but this is not the way to solve it. This would take away a huge piece of functionality and flexibility we have now that is needed for different use cases.

Hi Veronica,

Since it would be a setting in the admin, it would be up to you to activate the feature or not.

Nevertheless, sync'ing a Marketo program to an existing SFDC campaign almost always lead to a sync issue, because of discrepancies in the member names. We instruct to our customer to never do it, so the idea was to offer those agreeing with this rule the possibility to enforce it.
