It might happen that a lead will not be sent an email because of the communication limit. When this happen, we have almost no possibility to easily know (see My email was not sent: a troubleshooting guide ) and it's often very difficult to reschedule the email. In engagement or email programs, it's even impossible (even in in EP, the email will be sent on next cast).
This idea is that "send email" flow steps, engagement programs streams and email programs should all have a "retry send on communication limit" option about what to do if the email is blocked by the communication limit.
It should be possible to set the max number of trials (max unlimited, meaning until the email is finally sent) and the delay in days between each trial. Of course, if another attempt to send is blocked because of another reason (email becomes invalid or unsubscribed), then Marketo would stop retrying.
