Case #E-002014093 serves as a comprehensive overview of all the issues I am experiencing with the new email designer, which are ultimately preventing me from switching over from the old email builder to the new one. Most critical to least critical issues are listed from top to bottom. I would like to escalate this case for management/leadership visibility as I understand there is no quick fix.
- Legible and formatted Plain Text conversion from branded email template needed. Currently the Plain Text offered for the new email designer butchers the spacing and formatting between the copy, making it hard to read, required to scroll, and ultimately appears robotic. We need the Plain Text solution to be formatted like the old email builder has it so as not to deter prospects and customers who may have security in place that defaults emails to Plain Text.
- Ability to go back in and edit email after it is initially published as well as unpublished and published again. Case #E-001992137 dives into this issue and ultimately it was determined to be due to the coding of our branded email templates with a solution of 1. Fixing the code. or 2. Cloning the email again and potentially again each time the issue happens where it does not let me go back in and edit.
1. Is not ideal at this time because we no longer have someone with coding capabilities on our team and it will cost for us to outsource this and we have other higher priorities at this time.
2. Is not ideal for a long term solution and is a nuance having to clone again and then the need to update logic referencing the original email is time consuming and leaves room for mistakes/failed logic.
- The preview functionality from the main Preview button as well as the preview icon in the send email flow step brings essentially back to the edit/published page when clicked. It is not like to old email builder preview that allows me to quickly ensure I have the right CTA links in the email by simply hovering over the links in the preview. The only way to ensure the links are right is by going back into the email to edit it and then click into the hyperlink that way. This is more time consuming.
