Flexible communication limits

Flexible communication limits

You can set limits for receiving a maximum amount of emails per period. And you can ignore this per mailing.

Situation: What if you have a important mailing planned to 10.000 people, which ignores the limit, bacause of its importance, but there are about 250 people you specificly don't want to send more than 2 mails a week (e.g. they requested this maximum). You don't want to use "Suspend Marketing" entirely.

We could have the communication limit setting also on the lead level!
- If empty: works the same as currently in Marketo
- If populated: overrules the ignore setting in a mailing.

This enables you to create a mailing preference center very easily. A lead could specifiy how often he wants to be mailed. This could be higher or lower than the generic admin setting. And even if you ignore the generic admin setting in a specific mailing, you still respect a single lead's preferences.

Interesting, but it still doesn't solve your issue of timing, if they have already been touched and they are in your 10critcal it wold be blocked.

One way to solve is to set your 10k up to run every day for a week, but allow the individuals to go through once, so the first day that individual is not blocked it would go out. So you adhered to their preference but still got the communication out, just with perhaps slightly different timing.

I'd be concerned that you'd be chasing individual preferences forever. You may consider different subscription groups - or perhaps the master admin tool can offer tiers so you can assign users to a frequency tier.

I like the idea of the tiers. And setting the tier per lead.
