Engagement program - "No Email" email

Engagement program - "No Email" email

I realise that if at any time I want to make sure a prospect doesn't get an email for a week or two I can always change their cadence to paused. But some of my users aren't that comfortable with campaigns. They will only understand that I've got a list of emails & the higher up the more likely it is to be sent. However if they want the lead to take week 5 off, then they won't know how to accomplish that.

What would be really great for them is something they could pull onto the engagement stream that would visually represent an email. No email, or skipped round, this would allow a little more randomness to be inserted into the rigidity of cadences.

Add a program with a wait step in the flow and no email send.  They will run through the program!

Another reason (example scenario) to "Like" my Idea of allowing content streams to include smart campaigns, rather than have to create Programs. 🙂 http://community.marketo.com/MarketoIdeaDetail?id=08750000000IuVcAAK

Hey Cheryl - When I was doing my demo of the new feature a few weeks back I was warned that doing that could result in a double cast, ie getting no email + the next email. Perhaps there was a misunderstanding. But if you do as you suggest, would they still receive an email? I don't remember who suggested that to me, but I was told to proceed with caution on programs.

What about adding a program and the smart list says to pause the cadence, then a wait step for 1 week, then a new flow step to change cadence to normal?

If the lead does not qualify for the program (e.g you filter them out of there is no email in your case) they DO NOT move onto the next program.  I want to build that feature, but we don't have it yet.

Hi all, I know this is an old thread, but I wanted to see if anything has changed since the last post here, in regards to cadence variation best practices?

Would you still recommend Adam's method (here: https://community.marketo.com/MarketoDiscussionDetail?id=90650000000PfgdAAC) as the best way to somewhat randomize when leads receive a content drop?

I am in the preliminary stages of building out a multi-stream engagement program and am exploring various ways to make the mechanics more flexible.

Thanks!
