Don't create email draft unless changes are made

Don't create email draft unless changes are made

If you open an existing Approved email in the Email Designer a draft is automatically created even if you don't make any changes.  This can be extremely confusing especially when someone is just inspecting an element of the email and doesn't make changes.

My suggestion is not to create a draft if no changes are made similar to the way the Landing Page Designer works.

I totally agree.
Especially given the fact that when you inspect an email and it turns into a draft, you may not realize the change until you refresh your browser.

Plus sometimes when emails are in draft mode, there is no way to distinguish an email where changes have been made but author has forgotten to approve changes and an email which has just been viewed but not amended.

Triple agree!  Sometime I will pull the html from an approved email so I can place in a new email
