Cap Registrations for Events

There are many events in which having an unlimited amount of attendees could be a huge logistical problem. I'd love a way to cap the amount of attendees and automatically switch the landing page to a closed registration when registrations have hit its cap. Basically - "If list count = X, then show X landing page"

We do a lot of events globally at LANDesk Software  One of the issues we continually run into using Marketo for event registrations is not having the ability to cap the number of registrants allowed.  If someone isn't checking the registration list almost conitnually, we go over our limit and fiace the awkward situation of having to inform some registrants that we we full and cannot accomodate them and their guests.  Is there a way to do this or is anything like this in the works? Thank you!

We have implemented the capping process in the CRM where we set a limit and get notificiations when an event is at 95% via campaigns, rollup fields and SF workflows.  One an alert is triggered we start monitoring registrations and make an executive decision on opening a second event reg and replace the landing page with a re-direct. To either "its full, sign up next time" or to an alternate reg process.

Yeah, we've used the notification method through SF workflows too, but if the cap is hit in a rush overnight it's hard to monitor. This is a must have feature for anyone running a lot of events. The workflow I would love to have is to set a cap, monitor registrations, and have the ability to route anyone who signs up after the cap re-routed to a new program which manages the waitlist.

Any update on an easier solution to this? We have a unique problem in that we want to advertise multiple dates to register for an event, and each event needs to be capped at 1 person (thus it wouldn't make sense to track manually and update the landing page accordingly.) After one option has been selected, we would like it to disappear from the list so only the available options appear.

This is a big issue for our company as well.  We had to manually pull smart lists and remove choices from dropdown lists on our forms 1-2 times a day prior to some of our events.

This is a must for my organization as well. When we first realized this limitation my managers were very frustrated with me as they then had to call prospects and tell them we could not accomodate them 😞
