I think current doc Marketo REST APIs: Asset Objects » Marketo Developers  lack of LP approving.

Because when I tried below, I could approve.

These operations are still in beta and not yet suitable for production use.  We'll have them documented soon.

I stumbled upon the exact same thing today. I'm glad it "just magically works", for the most part. It's alarming that this critical feature remains undocumented. It would be much better to publicize it and mark it as a beta-quality feature.
