One of campaign managers came to me today and wanted to know the number of all-time downloads for a specific PDF file that's part of a campaign that has been live since September 2014. I told her that it wasn't possible (via a custom smart list) since Marketo prunes specific activity - in this case "clicks link on web page" - after 90 days (and this activity is contained in multiple programs - not just one, otherwise I could have just looked at program membership). Since our campaign managers are measured on the quality and popularity of the content they produce to support their campaigns, having access to this data is critical. At the same time, I understand the need to prune specific data to optimize performance - especially an instance the size of ours. I know you can request engineers to extend this, but I'm concerned of the performance hit we'll take.
I wish it was possible to retain data well beyond 90 days (a year would suffice), yet not affect the performance of our Marketo instance.
