Add Note to Delete Lead Flow Step

Add Note to Delete Lead Flow Step

The flow step to Delete Lead under the Special flow options is a bit misleading. There should be another note included for 'Remove from CRM: True'. It actually deletes the lead from your Salesforce or Dynamics CRM as well as Marketo if selected as 'True'.

We found this misleading, too, and submitted to Product over a year ago. We actually deleted our SFDC data because of the misunderstanding and were only able to recover about 90%. To keep from the stuation happening again, we just limit our SFDC MKTO user to only add contacts/leads and make changes, but does it not have access to delete data from SFDC. That may work for your org if it is not necessary to de abl to delete from your SFDC or Dynamics CRM.

I've seen many questions on the Community with users confused about the difference between Delete Lead vs. Delete Lead from SFDC.  Instead of using the True/False options, I think using plain language would be best here to avoid the confusing and unintended mistakes.

My suggestion would be to rename the "Delete Lead" flowstep to "Delete Lead From Marketo".  In addition, instead of the "Remove from CRM" choice with a True/False selection,  I would have this say "Also Delete Lead from CRM?" and change the selections from Yes/No (though the same as True/False, it would just be easier to have this phrased as a question).  I would also default this choice to No/False to ensure that if someone wants to delete the lead from both Marketo and their CRM they have to make that selection.

Val,

I like your idea about changing the flowstep name to "Delete Lead From Marketo". It clarifies the flow step action.
