Hello! We are planning to initiate our first sync between Marketo and Dynamic Chat, and we want to ensure that this process will not cause any slowdowns or negative implications on our CRM system.
Could you provide guidance on best practices or considerations to prevent any performance issues during this initial sync?

Hello!

 

The initial sync between Marketo and DC shouldn't have any impact on your CRM. It's just a data exchange between these two apps.

 

Eventually - when you have set up DC - you might want to send additional data points, like Interesting Moments, to your sales people, but that is totally in your control.

Here are some best practices and considerations:

 

1) Ensure you are aware of both Marketo’s and your CRM’s API limits, as exceeding these can cause throttling or failures in data syncing. If you are syncing a lot of data, ensure you're staying within these limits.
2) Set up monitoring for the initial sync to watch for any performance degradation in both Marketo and your CRM. If you notice slowdowns, pause the sync and investigate.
3) Avoid syncing large volumes of data all at once. If you have a large lead database, stagger the syncs over time to reduce the load on both systems.
4) Before initiating the sync, ensure your Marketo data is clean and well-structured. Review lead records for duplicates, incomplete data, or irrelevant contacts to minimize unnecessary data transfer.
5) If possible, test the sync in a sandbox environment to identify any potential issues before going live.
6) Regularly check Marketo and Dynamic Chat sync logs for any errors or delays to address them promptly.
