I've seen some great uses of Chatter in Salesforce to encourage collaboration. We operate a global marketing team and find that a lot of our communications around programs are stuck in our inbox, it would be fantastic if there was a chatter like feature to Marketo that would push messaging. There are a ton of great things this could included - alerts on campaign deployments, alerts on campaign results, questions or approvals, general conversations etc.
