    Senior Director, B2B Marketing - FinTech Company - Reston, VA



      Fundation is a high growth, private equity backed technology enabled online commercial lender dedicated to enhancing the borrowing process for small business owners across the United States. We are changing the landscape of lending to small and medium sized businesses nationwide through a streamlined data-driven, digital process.

      We deliver our credit products through a network of partners – we do not conduct a direct to customer marketing program. We offer the equivalent of a bank loan but through a technology, enabled process that can deliver capital in as little as 2 business days. Our core product is a fixed rate, 1-4 year fully amortizing term installment loan (similar to a car loan or mortgage) with no prepayment penalties. Because we use our own capital (a balance sheet lender), we employ risk-based pricing to lend to businesses with varying credit profiles and for various purposes – working capital, inventory, capital improvements, equipment purchases, expansion of facilities, acquisitions and ownership related events. We do not sell our loans and we control the servicing throughout the life of the loan.

      Our partners include banks and other financial institutions; business brokers; business advisors, vendors of supplies, equipment, and services; online service providers, software providers and professional service firms. In each partnership, we customize our product offering and our delivery model to meet the needs of each unique partner and its customers. Our partnerships range from customized vendor financing programs, discrete transaction/deal assistance, fully integrated lending platforms, and customer cross-sell through coordinated marketing programs.

      The Role

      Lead the brand and go-to-market approach by identifying the right strategies, audiences, partnerships and selling models. As a passionate storyteller, convey the company’s mission and accomplishments through written word and digital content. As a visionary leader, drive the company’s growth efforts and position the unique aspects of the company’s solutions in order to achieve our revenue goals. Responsibility for:

      • Conference selection, execution, follow-up and performance tracking in coordination with the Business Development team
      • Management and coordination of public relations strategy and execution
      • Customer communications and nurturing strategy and tactics
      • Partner acquisition marketing strategy and tactical execution
      • Customer and partner onboarding and nurturing
      • Development of overall Fundation brand strategy and channel specific deployment including associated print/digital and social support
      • Co-branded marketing campaigns with our financial institution channel partners
      • Marketing analytics to support channel specific spend


      • You must be a proven B2B marketing leader with tangible accomplishments that you can point to
      • Experience working in both a smaller, leaner entrepreneurial environment as well as a traditional corporate setting
      • 10+ years of professional marketing, leadership and management experience in a B2B environment ideally with experience in a financial services or solutions oriented business
      • Clear track record as brand-builder, driving winning market strategies within a complex B2B marketing environment
      • Demonstrated success in establishing a brand vision and effective strategy that achieves operational objectives that build brand awareness, preference and demand for Fundation’s lending products
      • Strong analytical skills to resolve complex issues, drive through obstacles, develop optimal growth opportunities, and deliver effective business solutions that meet the goals of Fundation and its business partners
      • Solid financial management skills, including market assessment development and ongoing profitability monitoring, with the proven ability to negotiate effectively with external agencies and organizations
      • Ability and willingness to “roll up the sleeves,” and personally contribute while leading a growing team
      • Expert understanding of product brand life-cycles and purchasing behavior (both consumer and business)
      • Messaging & positioning, competitive differentiation, and developing compelling storylines for taking products to market (both existing and new product launches) through collateral, training materials, pitch decks, and other sales playbooks/tools
      • Driving segmentation, targeted marketing, and market opportunity assessments
      • Knowledge of the credit markets is a plus but not required
      • Well versed in financial products and services
      • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and presentation skills
      • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field required, MBA Degree preferred
