Why are received emails logged using "Log with Marketo" sometimes not available to be viewed in SFDC?

Occasionally, a rep logs a received email using the "Log with Marketo", but when you click the subject in the Activity History section of the Contact record, the Comment does not have a link to display the email, instead it has "From: Mike Lewis mlewis@xxxx.com. [Email details are being uploaded from Marketo...please check back later]", but the email is never available.  The email is available for viewing in the Email tab of the Sales Insight section, however.

Has anyone else noticed this and if so, do you know why this occurs?

Hi Elliot,

I believe that in order for Marketo to be able to store these email activites in SFDC is needs to create and save a template. I think there should be an email tamplate folder called Marketo Email Templates in Setup -> Communications Templates -> Email Temaplates.

Click Edit beside this folder, is the Public folder access set to read/write and is the folder accessible to all users or just to a selection of users?

(Also your Marketo sync user should have the permissions Manage Public Temaplates and Edit HTML temapltes.)

Thanks Cathal!  Everything in SFDC is configured as you stated.
