Where is the Marketo Object - Opportunities database be placed ?

There is a lead database in the marketo UI but not an opportunities DB. Where would someone check on his opportunities created via an REST API.

The opportunity object is attached to the lead object in marketo. Go into the lead database and you will see an object called opportunity info

Thanks !! but does that mean an opportunity is connected to a lead. But i dont see giving any value in specific for lead when creating opportunity.

So does that also mean we cannot create opportunity as separate record? does that also mean when a opportunity is created a lead is also  created ?

Hi fact, the relation that is used it the Contact Role table in SFDC that links contacts and opportunities.

In SFDC when you create an opportunity, you have to attach it an account. But a contact is not mandatory. The best practices is always to create the opportunity from the contact in SFDC, so that the contact is automatically attached to the opportunity.

The other way to create an opportunity in SFDC is to convert a lead. In this case, the contact is created or merged with an existing one and the resulting opportunity is attached to the contact as well.
