When you look at the dashboard for an engagement program, the top left number (69) just says Engagement. Is that the engagement from the most recent cast or an overall average of the engagement from all emails within the program?
Hi Carey,
This is the engagements for all emails and all casts. You have another graph (bottom right) that gives you the engagement by content piece and the graph below with the engagement over time (casts).

Hi Carey, it's an overall number -- but, like many other Marketo metrics it is a proprietary 'calculation' that I don't think we've ever been given any insight into what actually goes into this number. Also, if you use programs instead of straight emails in your engagement program then this number won't calculate.
Generally I don't put much stock into these numbers, although if you have multiple engagement programs and one has a low number and one has a higher number, you could probably assume that the one with the higher number has had more engagement. But, that would beg the question: What KPIs are you actually measuring success of your programs against? So in the end, Marketo's view of engagement might not be the type of overall engagement that you're looking for in your programs.
Thank you Dory and Gregoire! I appreciate the insight. That helps!
