What are best practices for managing data overages in SF?

Hi - What best practices do you all use to manage your Marketo Data that gets synced with SF?

1. How do you manage the overflow? Do you delete activities every month? Every six months?
2. What activities do you find that you don't need to sync?

Currently, we're trying to clean up some of our data overages and there's no mass way to do it. Any help is appreciated!

If you have Sales Insight, many (if not most) of the activities synced over will be redundant with what the rep can see in MSI. We have MSI, and we only sync over a few activites:
  • Filled out form
  • Clicked link in email
  • Sales email sent
  • Clicked link in sales email
Even some of those don't really matter that much to us since we have all of that activity stored in MSI.

Regarding deletion: the best approach will be to ask Sales what they actually use.  Do they care if a prospect opened an email two weeks ago?  Do you remember what you read two weeks ago?  This information can be useful in the aggregate (ie cumulative touches) but if the prospects don't remember doing it then it won't likely matter too much.
