Tracking inside wordpress

Hello,

I have seen that there are tons of articles about Wordpress integration and I have already found some tricks that we need to test out; however maybe some of you have same use case as ours and I have a quick answer to it?

We are using Wordpress for our internal communication.
The way it works is that:
- our Internal Communication Manager writes articles inside Wordpress
- she uses the "post notification" pluggin to schedule and share articles within our organization
- usually the full article can be read directly inside mail (don't need to go on Wordpress)

We are interested to know how many of our employees actually open and read the articles.
Is that possible to track this with Marketo?

- can we achieve that by adding a Marketo tracker (e.g. http://wordpress.org/plugins/marketo-tracker/)?
- do we have to just add title in email but "force" readers to land on wordpress for tracking to work?

What we would like is: avoid creating extra work for Internal Communication Manager (i.e. she needs to create a MKTO campaign on top of Wordpress article) and be able to schedule notifications (i.e. the Outlook pluggin doesn't seem to be an option)

Combining the Marketo Tracker plugin for Wordpress with normal email tracking could be an option, perhaps displaying an image or the initial lines, inviting to click to view the full article.

The plugin for Wordpress takes less than a minute to install and set the Munchkin ID. The plugin is simple and reliable, exactly as Wordpress users would expect.
