Our Marketo instance was implemented years and years ago, at the time the team did not sync and map over most standard account objects. Today, we actually need them in Marketo for segmentation and routing purposes. I reached out Support and they said they can no longer alter it, they can see the fields but it's not available to sync in the UI. Is this true? If it wasn't done at the beginning, it can't be done now? We're trying to avoid creating custom fields that are essentially the same as standard fields on the Account object, it's just redundant. Any input would help!

Hi again Jaclyn,
Only 3 account owner fields should be available:
The problem is that they are not account fields but User fields.
Try to update the users. Then try to change the owner of an account to another owner, then back.

Hi Jaclyn,
I am not sure I understand. Are you talking about accounts ? Fields ? Filed values for large number of accounts ?
If it's about field values, try updating these accounts after making sure that the fields appear in the admin -> field management.
Test it on a few accounts and check the result. If it works, then do a mass update on all your accounts using a data loader.

Hi Greg!
It's actually one standard account field (name= Account Owner, api name= OwnerID). We're trying to make that field available as a read only in Marketo but support is saying that field is NOT available in Marketo...at all for anyone. It's hard to believe when there are documents and discussions around Account Owner in the community.

That alternative might work for us. Thanks! Not sure why Support recommended creating custom fields instead of using these existing fields.
