I am looking for other users who have their Marketo/SFDC configured this way:
- Marketo Person object represents the 'human' and syncs to the SFDC Contact object (bidirectional)
- The SFDC Lead object represents the inquiry (Marketo > SFDC only)
In other words:
- John Smith fills out a webinar form on the website
- John, new to the database, is created as a new Person in Marketo and as a new Contact in SFDC with the contact status "prospect"
- A week later John fills out a sales form on the website
- This activity is logged in John's Marketo Person record activity log
- The sales inquiry is created in SFDC as a new Lead, associated with the existing SFDC Contact
This means that John's Contact record in SFDC can be associated with multiple sales Leads, each to be worked by a different sales team, and to be converted to separate sales opportunities.
