Hi all,
Just a quick question for the community in case anyone knows / encountered a similar situation.
After my earlier post, we're ready to remove our Marketo User in SFDC their Admin rights.
We'll create a new profile with new permissions and assign them exclusively to him.
Can Field Sync be affected by this change? In paper, this new profile will have almost the same set of permissions, it differs majorly on the field visibility (Fields will no longer be visible by default, so we'll have to check them individually before making the change)
We wanna make sure no new fields will be created. I'm assuming that won't happen since we're not changing the API name, but just in case. 🙂
Thanks!
Hi @Chalo
I just read your previous post as well as this update.
Regarding Field Visibility & Sync, something to keep in mind
For fields to sync between Marketo and Salesforce, they need to be visible to the Marketo sync user in SFDC. If the new profile restricts field visibility (i.e., fields are not visible by default), you'll need to ensure all necessary fields are explicitly made visible to the Marketo user before the profile change. Any fields not visible will stop syncing, and their existing data in Marketo could remain static.

Hope this helps.
Kind regards,

Hi there,
I want to share that there would be multiple scenarios and their respective implications for this case.
1) If you are providing read access to the current fields, then nothing will be changed all data will remain the same, and in case any new updates are made in Salesforce, then the values will be updated.
2) If you are providing read/write access to the current fields, then nothing will be changed all data will remain the same, and in case any new updates are made in Marketo/Salesforce, then the values will be updated.
3) If you are providing read/write access to the new fields, then the new fields would be created and the sync would get started for any new values.
4) If you remove any current fields from the sync, then the current data will remain static and future sync will be stopped.
Please let me know if that answers your query. New fields would be created only in a case where you provide access to any new fields.
Thanks!
