Our SEO specialist is evaluating BrightEdge and Conductor - any one have experience with either?
I don't know what level of SEO experience your specialist has or what type of business you have, but generally speaking I'd start with Moz.com's basic $99/month subscription to do on page optimization, competitor analysis, keyword ranking analysis, and more.
If you're a massive e-commerce or consumer web site with millions of pages then perhaps looking at these solutions would make sense. But because you have an SEO specialist, and not an SEO team it would lead me to believe that you may not have millions of web pages for bots to crawl.
I think evaluating these enterprise level platforms are dependent upon your business and where you currently stand with respect to SEO. The cool thing about Moz is that if you just wanted to assess where you stand with your top "head terms" or "long tail" Moz can tell you where you rank on all those keywords, and what pages are ranking.
I've worked at both enterprise level B2B marketing and financial services marketing B2C and in both those worlds I've never found it compelling enough to go with either of those solutions. Primarily because a lot of that data looks nice but it really comes down to what actions you take upon the data.
Honestly, I think you can get much of that data through Moz on a monthly subscription, no lock in it would make more sense to start there. Moz is THE thought leader in the space, IMO, so you can also learn a ton from them. Hope this helps.
