Sales Insight Reporting Capabilities

Sales Insight Reporting Capabilities

We are trying to report with a greater level of detail on Marketo Sales Insight templates, and how they are being used.

Some of the main metrics that we want to measure are:
  • Template Usage by Sales Rep
  • Open Rate by Template
  • Send/Open/Click-Through Rate by Template
  • Overall Number of Emails Tracked
As of right now, our makeshift solution is a series of Smart Lists that can show basic Sent/Opened/Click-Through numbers. However, we'd like to get to a greater level of detail, and we haven't been able to find a way to do this yet.

Has anyone else come up with a different solution for reporting on Sales Insight usage/performance?

Also, does anyone know if Sales Insight reporting is currently on the product roadmap? Would love to see this functionality rolled into a future release!

Re: Sales Insight Reporting Capabilities

In general, you can accomplish this by using dedicated emails in Sales Insight and then report open, etc. by sales rep.  There will be some data noise, such as when a lead is sent an email and then changes owners, but in most cases this will get you in the right ballpark.

Thanks for the reply, Steven! Is this accomplished through using Smart Lists, or by doing an Email Performance report?

Re: Sales Insight Reporting Capabilities

It depends on what you want to report: smart lists are the equivalent of a list report in Salesforce, so they can be useful.

If you're looking for a summary report, you'd use the Email Performance Report and specifically select the emails listed in Sales Insight under Setup.  I'd name these with a prefix like "SI" to make it easier to find them.

Re: Sales Insight Reporting Capabilities

Thank you Steven,

What about reporting on Sales Emails, sent through Marketo/Outlook plugin? How do I specify that I want my email report to report only on these emails, and their performance?

All the best,
