Records with two email addresses

We have a bunch of leads, pretty much all from list imports, that have email addresses that look like "[email address 1], [email address 2]".  So they look like broken emails we could never mail to, except their activity logs actually show that emails are being delivered. 

How does this work?  Is Marketo just sending to the first email address or is it somehow able to distinguish the two and send to both?

I do not know the answer but you could create another test lead with two email addresses of your own.

Setup a quick test message and see if one, both or neither of them receive the message.  Would be interesting to find out based on what you describe.
