I am noticing that when I merge records their lead scores are being summed together and causing leads to reach statuses at an accelerated pace. Does anyone have any insight into how to control this within Marketo?
I assume through a workflow this can be controlled or by field settings?
Hey Christine, this actually isn't something that can be controlled via workflows. But, I'd look at everything that's coming together to create your score. If they have behavioral aspects plus demographic aspects, then the demographics are likely being doubled but the behaviors are probably still accurate. When a behavioral score occurs, it only happens on one record even if there are duplicates.
So, upon a merge the score goes up quickly, yes. But sometimes it's warranted based on previous activity.

The problem is we have TONS of duplicates that we are in the process of cleaning up, so it's more of a matter of time available to check the records.
