"New" Status not converting to anything

We have a lot of statuses from a recent email campaign that still say "new" in the status column. Any idea why they wouldn't change to one of the other stutuses? Any help or thoughts would be GREATLY appreciated!

Hi Jessica, yes, it looks like these are program statuses which someone has set up, and they are changed for the program when a person does a specific action. A smart campaign is denoted by the little lightbulb shape and it can either be on (triggered), off (inactive), or off with a checkmark (ran as a batch campaign). Your best bet -- depending how much time you're going to be inheriting Marketo for -- would be to review the Marketo University articles and training. It will give you a great overview of how things work.

Hmm. Maybe I'm thinking of something different than what you're describing. Any chance you could post a screenshot?

Dory, thanks for your response. Unfortunately I'm not sure. I temporarily inheridted this repsonsibility and I have to admit I don't know a lot about it. All I know is a lof other statuses say delivered, opened, or bounced, so I get what those mean. Just not sure how to interpret "new." How can I tell if we used a "smart campaign?"

Hi Jessica, are you using any smart campaigns that will actually change the program status?
