Questions about REST API

Is the REST API available at http://developers.marketo.com/documentation/rest/ final version?
This seems to lack some of functionality exposed via SOAP. (like Activities). Will this functionality be added to REST API in future?

We are continuing to add new features to the REST API. Currently, there is not Activities API for the REST API.

we have the same question here,  why two apis are so different that we can only get activities via SOAP?
