Program Member Duplicates - Emailing

We have a lot of duplicates in our database due to a dirty CRM instance. I'm creating a program that will send an email invitation to all of our leads (~3000). My question is, will each email address receive the email X times, where X indicates a number equal to the number of times that email address is present in the qualified lead database, but not to exceed the global communication limits? I'm asking because obviously that could be problematic if a single email shows up more than once. I launched a test of the campaign with my own email as the only smart list filter, though, and even though there were four separate leads with the same email address I only received one copy of the invitation email. Anyone have any definitive answer as to why this happened and what I can expect when I launch the full thing? Thanks, Charles

No, we do a mandatory de-dupe step before any emails go out- ensuring that one email address gets only one email sent to it in a given campaign.
