Pending Emails - Exception Report

Hi,

We have gotten burned recently by emails getting hung up in Pending and sent very late.

Is it possible to create an email report that shows only those Emails/Programs that are pending.

We'd like to have this as an exception report that we can look at every morning to check status of Emails.

My understanding is that Emails should never be in pending for more than a day so the alternative is to show all email activity in the last week or something similar to focus on just recently created emails, but I was curious if we could filter just on Emails in a Pending state.

Subscribing to this - would love to know if this possible!

Would be great if there's an email notification that can be sent if there's an error in the email send as well.

Hi,

You can create a smart list to see the records which are pending.

Criteria:

Was Sent Email: Select the email which was sent.

Not Was Delivered Email: Select the email which was sent.

Email Invalid is False

I would add a couple of additional filters to Brian's list above.

was sent email
not was delivered email
not email bounced
not email bounced soft

Pending emails are those that have been marked as sent, but have not yet completed the cycle of delivery or bounce.

From what I've seen in previous instances, this occurs either due to a Marketo system error or (more likely) an abnormally large email send that causes trouble for specific email servers.  How many emails are you sending at one time?
