Ongoing emails once added to smart list

I want an email to be sent to a lead 5 minutes after the lead has been added to a smart list? How?

A member of a smart list is simply a lead that has met a collection of filters and is now on the list...so I would figure out what the triggering field is (lead score, filled a form, score changed, etc.), put in a 5 minute wait step, then send the email.

The triggering field is the new addition to the smart list. Why does the "Add to List" trigger not work for smart lists? Also, I tried using the "Lead Created" trigger and linked it to the smart list and this did not work. There has to be a way to do this.

Smart lists are dynamic; you belong to a smart list when a combination of filters are met. That isn't a triggered event; you either qualify or you don't at any given time.

So, how does someone get on that smart list? Some value changes to qualify them; that should be your trigger or triggers to initiate this email being sent.

This is working as designed.
