No Acquisition Program

How do we handle this?  IN order to get our program reports more accurate, we have to have Acquisition Programs.  There are alot of  records without an acuqitions program in our Marketo database.  Is there a way to see trends of how these were created?  Are we able to go backwards and add leads to certain acquisition programs?

I would recommend pulling a smart list - Acquisition program is empty. And edit the view to be able to see date created, source, any campaigns, etc. (anything that may help you get a clue as to where they came from).

You can update via batch smart campaigns or just in the lead database view. Either way your flow would be to change data value - acq prog.

Hi Kim.

Thansk a bunch for your reply. This is really very helpful for us. I have created a lead performance report with "original Source Info" and this tells me from where the leads was originally created in Marketo. We will be now able to decide what would be the acquisation program for this.

Great! And as a tip while you're still sorting these out, I suggest checking this report on a regular basis to make sure the leads are showing acquisition programs. Happy Friday!

And if you wanted to go to the next level of analysis on your historical Leads that are not members of any Marketo Programs/Events, you can create what I call "Channel Programs" -- 2010 Events, 2010 Content, 2010 Advert, etc. -- and then batch Leads into the appropriate ones with a Smart Campaign based on Create Date & Lead Source. This creates generic Acquisition Programs for Leads that pre-date your Marketo org. -- and gives Marketing visibility and ownership on even your oldest Lead records.
