I'm looking to sync Marketo and SFDC campaigns but want to ensure that the leads we have in Marketo only, don't get pushed through to Salesforce on the campaign sync - but at the right stage.
Is it possible to have a synced Marketo/SFDC campaign and keep leads in Marketo only?
To accomplish this you will need to have the SFDC campaign created, and only use the Add to SFDC Campaign flow steps, not the sync 'connection' at the program level.
We don't have any of our campaign syncs active (we do turn them on to create the campaign sometimes as it's faster than creating in SFDC), but we don't keep any of ours active due to not wanting to sync as soon as someone is a member of the program.
Hi again Dory,
I am not sure I am following you
When I wrote "active", I meant the campaign "active" checkbox field in SFDC needs to be set to True:
It does not mean they have to be sync'ed with programs.
Ahh, yes, that is correct. Sorry, when you create the campaign from Marketo it's automatically active so I wasn't thinking about that. Thanks
Can you tell me if what you are suggesting would solve the following problem?
Syncing all program statuses ends up being a data hog in our SFDC instance. We don't want to record who was "invited" or other non-success statuses. We only want to sync the relevant, success status.
Are you saying you sync the campaign to SFDC when you create it, then turn it off in MKTO and only sync desirable statuses with the Add to SFDC Campaign flow step?
Thank you for any clarity on this.
better opens new thread than add comments to an old one it you expect a quick answer
There are some conflicting objectives here. You cannot have the programs and campaign sync and only sync successful campaign members. You will have to decide one way or another. So either you sync the programs and campaigns, and you will have all members in SFDC (all member statuses) or you selectively add members to campaigns using "add to SFDC campaign" flow steps.
