Length of drip or nurture program?

Does anyone have any wisdom to share on the number of emails to include in a welcome nurture. Of course there isn't one right answer -- I'm just hoping to hear a pattern to successes within our companies.

I'd say:

1 welcome email
1 unsubscribe email

keep it really simple?

You could add a thank you email if they have just registed, or include some "introduction content" to download? Maybe something about meet the team?
