We have moved to a new D365 instance and had to move to a new Marketo instance which has been set up.
I have a a lead in Marketo and we manually Sync to Microsoft as a Lead.
In D365 - we complete some additional details and then progress the lead to an opportunity.
In D365, this creates the opportunity and converts the lead to a contact.
In our old instance - the lead in Marketo would get updated to a contact.
Currently, with new instance, the lead is kept in Marketo, and a Contact is created - so we have duplicates in Marketo. A Lead with some of the info and a Contact with some info and the opportunity info completed.
Does anyone know where the problem would be? Would this be in D365?
we are having the same challenge, I believe (https://nation.marketo.com/t5/Product-Discussions/MSD-365-Lead-Qualification-and-sync-to-Marketo/td-...).
According to the docs, support feedback and advice from @Dan_Stevens_ and @Catherine_Cham1, the reason could be customizations to qualification process in D365. Apparently, Marketo works only with out-of-the box qualification setup in MSD.
