Lead custom fields are not getting synced with salesfroce

Hi All,

I have acquisition program and acquisition date fields on both contact and lead. I have below concerns on field value population

1. While importing lead, acquisition date is not getting populated. However it should get auto-populated.

2. Acquisition program is also not getting mapped in salesforce while I can see field mapping at marketo side. Profile level access in salesforce is fine.

I see standard fields are getting synced. Do I need to extensively sync Contacts and Lead?

suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi Emilia Chioncel,

1. Are you setting the acquisition program during the list import? You are correct that the date should be stamped automatically when the program value is set, but this will only happen if you set it during the import dialogue.

2. Have you set up the acquisition program field in Salesforce using the special naming convention for the field name? Adding Custom Marketo Fields to Salesforce

Re: Lead custom fields are not getting synced with salesfroce

Hi @Justin Norris ,

Yes I am setting up program while Importing and also the api names at SFDC end are proper. Any other thing that I can check for.

Well do I need to synch Lead and contact explicitly?

One thing, if I dont set Acquisition program while importing, wouldnt is update the date whenever program is updated?

Thanks!

Hi Emilia Chioncel,

If you are setting the acquisition program at import using the option in the import flow and it isn't getting populated I would open a support case.

You do need to have an explicit sync step for new leads to sync to Salesforce; after that the automatic periodic sync should take care of it. If CRM-originated fields are updating in Salesforce but not the Marketo ones like acquisition program, I would double check that you have created the fields in CRM named according to the convention in the document I set up above.

I don't think the acquisition program would update whenever a program is updated - it is only set via explicit flow step action or through one of the system triggers like filling out a form local to a program.
