Is there a way to email out a form that would capture information to fill fields in the Marketo database?

Is there a way to email out a form that would capture information to fill fields in the Marketo database?

Is there a way to email out a form that would capture information to fill fields in the Marketo database? I would like to capture some additional information from my leads and thought it would be easiest to email out a Marketo form to capture it. Could the information be automatically stored in the lead database?

Adding forms to emails, while technically possible, can be messy with certain email clients outright rejecting them. You're likely best off just directing your leads to a Marketo landing page with a form.

And will a landing page be able to directly populate lead data into the lead database when leads respond?

A Marketo landing page with a form will create a lead in the Marketo lead database.

Yes. There's two ways you could go about it, actually:

1. Because the lead would be clicking on a Marketo-sent email to a Marketo landing page, it will associate any additional form fields filled out with that lead.
2. If you go ahead and include the identifying lead information you have in the form (such as First Name or Email Address) on the Marketo landing page your email links to, you'll see those fields pre-populated.

Note that I'm stressing using Marketo's in-house landing pages rather than taking form code and placing it on an external site.
