How to track embedded Brightcove video clicks on a webpage using munchkin code?

We use Brightcove as our vendor for video streaming. We need to track video plays (single or playlist) using munchkin code? Does anyone have experience doing this?

Notes:
This is on a standard webpage not a Marketo landing page.
Brightcove's player is Flash video by default with fallback to HTML5 for users who do not have flash.

Eric Hollebone has a good write up on how to do something similar for a youtube video - http://test.hollebone.ca/marketo-munchkin-event-tracking/

If we were posting videos to YouTube things would be so much easier! Unfortunately these videos must be secured and are not for the general public. It does look like we might be able to use Brightcove's API (http://support.brightcove.com/en/video-cloud/docs/listening-events-using-smart-player-api) to send a packet over to Marketo for register the plays.
